Aldo Chaparro is known for expanding the boundaries that separate art from other disciplines, making of this frontier his central theme. Most of Chaparo’s work is based in quick processes that involve a close interplay with the material. He is best known for his steel sculptures and taking phrases and images and decontextualizing them giving them a new meaning. Under the influence of artists like Pistoletto, Robert Morris, and Jorge Luis borges, reflection and mirroring have been key points of his investigation. Aldo lives and works between Mexico City, New York, Madrid, and Lima.
