What methods of payment do you accept?

InSitu’s online checkout system accepts Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express. If you would like to pay by check or wire transfer, please contact us.

What is your return and cancellation policy?

Returns and cancellations are permitted within 7 days of delivery. Please contact us to process a return.

How is tax and shipping calculated on my purchase?

Tax and shipping costs will be added to your order upon checkout. These fees will depend on your shipping address. In the United States, tax is applied to orders shipping to New York only. For countries outside the United States, duties and taxes will be applied in accordance to the country’s current rates.

Can I view artworks in person prior to purchasing?

Many artworks represented by InSitu Works are housed in New York City and open to viewing upon special request. This option is not available for all works, given that some inventory is housed across the country.

How soon will my order by delivered?

Estimated delivery time will vary according to the item purchased, its location, and the shipping destination. Most unframed works are processed and shipped within five business days. Framed works are generally processed and shipped within ten to fourteen business days. When your order ships, you will receive a shipment confirmation email.

Do you offer expedited or same day delivery?

Please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Do I need to sign for my package upon delivery?

Yes, a signature is required upon receiving your package.

If the artwork is shipped to or from Europe, is VAT included in the price?

International customer's item cost and postage cost do not include import fees, VAT or any other costs associated with the import of this item into your country.

What should I do if I receive a damaged item?

If you receive a damaged work of art, please notify us immediately. Include pictures of the damaged area. We will then file an insurance claim.

What is a print?

A print is created by a variety of fine art techniques that involve producing an artwork in multiples. These methods include relief printing from wood or linoleum, intaglio printing, lithography, digital printing, and printing from a negative. To create multiple copies of a work, an artist transfers his or her original image from a matrix (the surface on which the image is prepared) to a piece of paper or fabric.

What is a limited edition print?

A limited edition print belongs to a series from which a finite number has been printed. A limited edition is represented by a fraction. For instance, ¾ would indicate that your print is number three from an edition of four. The edition may also have accompanying artist proofs called APs. These should be indicated by a fraction ¾ + 1 AP.  Artist proofs are copies of the print meant for the artist, however they can also be sold.

What is an InSitu Works Limited Edition?

An InSitu Works Limited Edition is an exclusive limited edition print produced by InSitu Works in collaboration with the artist. All prints are available for custom framing.

How are your prints made? 

Materials for each print are listed in the product description. For InSitu Works Limited Editions, we use a digital inkjet process on the highest quality fine art paper.  Our textured paper is 310gsm, bright white, water-resistant, velvet fine art paper made from 100% cotton rag.  This paper is acid and lignin free with 100+ years archival certification. Photographs are printed on 345 gsm, bright white, vibrance baryta with a smooth surface ideal for high resolution photography. This paper has 100+ years archival certification.

How are artworks authenticated?

Artworks are signed by the artist and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by a co-founder. This certificate will guarantee the artist, title, date, medium, dimensions, and print number (if relevant). 

Why should I get my print custom framed via InSitu Works?

Our solid wood frames will compliment and protect your artwork. By combining the shopping experience with the option to purchase a frame, we are able to provide a simple, cost-effective solution to hang your new artwork.

How can I best care for my artworks?

The best practices to care for your artwork will vary depending on medium. The biggest hazards to your piece are light, temperature, and humidity. To ensure that your artwork will last for posterity, avoid hanging in direct sunlight, near fireplaces, or radiators. Do you offer art advisory services?

Yes, InSitu Works is pleased to offer services including but not limited to:

Do you accept artist submissions?

Yes, InSitu Works is always seeking new talent. Artists may submit via our website at http://www.insituworks.com/pages/artist-submissions. Please include your name and a link to your online portfolio.

How do you select the artists that are featured on your site?

Artist submissions are reviewed by the InSitu co-founders and our panel of curators.  

What kind of work do you select for inclusion on your site?

InSitu accepts painting, sculpture, mixed media, works on paper, prints, and photography. We look for artwork that is distinctive and relevant, and artists who are talented, determined, and thoughtful.
