New York, October 21, 2014 – InSitu Works is pleased to announce an exhibition of Alexis Zambrano’s newest body of work Interior Artscapes, on view at the James Burden Mansion on November 11, 2014. This one night exhibition will feature oil paintings of Zambrano’s idealized art collections. The exhibition is Zambrano’s debut show since co-founding the web-based marketplace for emerging and established artists InSitu Works. The artist will be present at the exhibition from 7 to 10 PM.
About the Artist:
Alexis Zambrano awakened an early interest in art through collecting. His interest soon grew into a life long passion for not only acquiring artwork, but also for creating it. In his first solo exhibition, Interior Artscapes, Alexis curates a series of re-imagined scenes conceiving his ideal fantasy of an otherwise impossible collection. Each painting juxtaposes the contemporary artwork of artists such as Jeff Koons, Gerhard Richter, Andy Warhol, Mark Rothko, and Barbara Kruger to name a few, with the traditional atmosphere of a European salon.
Alexis Zambrano was born in Monterrey, Mexico and currently lives and works in New York City. He received a BFA in Architectural Design at Parsons the New School for Design. Zambrano’s artwork is included in private collections in New York and Mexico.
